Have a correction, a cost figure from your own renovation, or a topic you’d like us to cover? We read every message.
You can reach us using the form below, or by email at contact@renolyst.com.
What we can and can’t help with
We’re an independent publisher, not a contractor, lender, or broker. That means there are some things we genuinely can’t do:
- We can’t quote your project — only a licensed contractor who has seen the site can do that
- We can’t approve, arrange, or advise on a loan application
- We can’t recommend a specific contractor in your area
What we can do is point you to the research behind any figure we publish, correct anything we’ve got wrong, and explain how we arrived at a comparison. Corrections are welcome and we act on them.
What we are glad to hear about
- A real quote you have received. The most useful thing anyone sends us. Tell us the job, the region and the number, and whether it came in above or below what we published. Corrections from people who have just paid the bill are worth more than any survey.
- A figure that looks wrong. If something here does not match what you were quoted, we want to know. Point us at the page and the number.
- A job we have not covered. If you searched for a cost and could not find a straight answer anywhere, that is exactly the gap we are trying to fill.
- Something that has gone stale. Prices move. If a guide is showing its age, tell us and we will revisit it.
What we cannot do
We are not contractors, inspectors or licensed financial advisers, so there are a few things we have to say no to:
- We cannot estimate your specific project. No one can price a job without seeing the house. Our guides are benchmarks for judging quotes, not quotes themselves.
- We cannot tell you whether a contractor is any good. We do not have local knowledge of individual firms, and we will not guess.
- We cannot give personalised financial advice. We compare how financing options work; which one suits your situation is a conversation for a licensed adviser.
- We cannot advise on structural or safety questions. If something looks unsafe, that needs someone standing in the room.
For contractors and companies
We do not accept payment for coverage, sponsored placements in cost guides, or paid links. If you are a contractor or supplier with pricing data you are willing to share, we would genuinely like to hear from you — and we will treat it as data, not as advertising.
Response times
This is a small operation, so replies usually take a few working days. Corrections get looked at first, because a wrong number on a live page is the thing most worth fixing quickly.
Before you write in, it may be worth checking the full cost guide index or running your numbers through the renovation cost calculator — the answer may already be there.
